YOUTH DELEGATES FROM OVER A DOZEN COUNTRIES RALLY FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION AT CLIMATE SUMMIT

GIANT EARTH IMMERSED IN RISING SEA LEVELS SENDS 11TH HOUR MESSAGE

BALI, INDONESIA – Sunday, young people from across the planet formed themselves in the image of a half sunken planet on Kuta Beach near the site of the UN Climate Change Conference. They called for immediate action in reversing the causes of global climate change.

The image, formed by hundreds of youth delegates attending the conference, consisted of the planet earth half-drowned in the beach's rising tide. Climate change will severely impact many coastal cities with severe flooding, as shown in recent years, in areas across the planet such as New Orleans, Mexico, Bangladesh, and the Pacific Islands.

"It's the 11th hour for action," said Matt Petersen of Global Green USA one of the groups who helped put together the image. "We need not just targets, but money and programs implemented starting today."

Ten years ago, industrialized countries agreed to reduce their climate changing emissions by 5.2% of their 1990 levels. Unfortunately, today the world finds itself on a path to emit 290% more emissions by 2030 than is allowable.

The image was put together by Ariel Artist John Quigley with the help of Forest Ethics, Greenpeace, Step it UP 2007, the International Youth Delegation, 11thhouraction.com, and other groups representing a diverse global coalition.

The image was coordinated with Global Green's 11thhouraction.com, which is asking cities and individuals from across the planet to come to the site and contribute image and video calls to action to save their cities and the planet.

Global Green USA, the American affiliate of President Gorbachev's Green Cross International, has been a national leader in championing smart solutions to climate change for more than a decade. Global Green has cosponsored Spectral Q aerial displays in the Arctic, Antarctic and New Orleans to help shine a light on the human impacts of global warming. Most recently Global Green has battled climate change in New Orleans – the first American city ravaged by climate change's impacts – by launching an innovative strategy to rebuild the city green.
