Clean Energy Week (CEW) is a clarion call to NGO’s, non-profits, associations, private corporations, local, regional and national government agencies to actively encourage and support the passage of clean energy and climate policies that will provide job creation. Clean Energy Week is planned as a week of action points, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions, workshops, press conferences, rallies and outreach activities on Capitol Hill and across Washington, DC and the nation sponsored individually by the participating organizations.
The purpose of Clean Energy Week is to keep clean energy on the forefront of the legislative agenda. Congress and the Administration need to be responsive to the fact that clean energy and climate legislation remains a top priority for the American people and is an essential component of immediate and sustained job creation and economic growth.
Participating entities will organize events during Clean Energy Week that will raise awareness of the need to pass a strong climate bill and create the new energy economy. The organizations will actively participate by promoting Clean Energy Week and producing their event(s) through venues including conference facilities, reception halls, websites, newsletters and other venues. CEW is envisioned to embrace dozens of events and activities. The week has several activities already planned:
February 1-5: NASEO Annual Meeting
February 3: Democratic Caucus retreat
February 4: CEO fly-in and Lobby Day by the Clean Economy Network (CEN) and Clean Energy Works (CEW); and Finance Education Day by the U.S. Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance (US PREF);
